ALL VISITORS AND PARENTS must report to the office to sign in for a school visitor pass. This is to ensure safety, provide accountability, support students, and respect learning.

For the safety and health of our students, the playground is now closed before and after school. There has been an increased number of unsupervised students on the playground at these times and the faculty and staff are not available for supervision during these hours. We ask that students leave campus immediately after school unless they are participating in a school sponsored after school event. Also, as posted on signs around campus, there is to be no riding of scooters, skateboards, hoverboards or bikes while on campus. Thank you for your cooperation.

STEM Week & Spring Break

It was great to see and hear the students share their "new learning" with other classrooms. They really took their projects to heart and what they shared allowed me to learn about building structures like houses, biomimicry and adaptation, building boats and saving your money, designing solar ovens, designing and launching rockets, and designing and thinking about automated fish feeders. I realize that it took a lot of work to get your grade level projects from the "thinking" phase to the "design and build " phase, to the "presentation" phase. All of you exhibited our theme for this school year . . . "full STEAM Ahead"!

The students from Kamiloiki and Punahou schools were all amazed at what our elementary school students are learning and how our students are immersed int he process in inquiry. In the 3 years that I have been here . . we have literally "taken things to a higher level", with regards to STEAM and sustainability. This STEM week serves as an excellent indicator of how far we have come.

You are all appreciated! Make it a GREAT Spring Break!

Make it a GREAT Year

Aloha Everyone!
Today marks the first fay of the 2016-2017 school year. We have worked hard to prepare our classrooms (classroom cleaning, prep work, setting up bulletin board, creating our seating charts, laminating posters and organizers, prepping for daily lessons, etc), registering/enrolling our students, learning the new CAMPUS system (attendance and grades). It's FULL STEAM AHEAD . . . so let's do what it takes to make this a great year!
It took our entire TEAM to prepare for this first day of school and I wanted to make sure to thank each and everyone of you for your continued hard, work, cooperation, and support of student learning! There are many exciting things that we can expect during this school year and it all all starts today! Thank you for being such a valuable member of our TEAM!
