I would like to wish all of you and your families a "Happy Thanksgiving". This is the season of "giving thanks" and to remember what we are "thankful" for. Please take some time during this extended holiday weekend to reflect on what you are "thankful" for.
I am "thankful" for my family . . . the Zakahi ohana and my Jefferson Ohana. My Zakahi family taught me the value of never forgetting where you came from, the value and spirit of sportsmanship, and the fact that each child has different strengths and opportunities for grow, so the strategies that may work for one child, may not work for another.
I am "thankful" for my Jefferson ohana. You have taught me the value of the TEAM, to put students before yourself and to do what is right for our students. Yes, we all have our little bumps in the road, but at the end of the day, we all believe that we are a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More). My Jefferson ohana embraces our school's brand "our family . . our culture . . . our land". I know this, as first time visitors to our campus tell me that there is something special about the school. I tell our visitors our brand and they say . . . yes, that kind of sums up their visitation.
Enjoy your weekend with family and friends. Be thankful for everything that you have and donate/volunteer your time with families that are less fortunate than you.
We are all a TEAM and you are all appreciated!
