These events, include, but were not limited to: . . . a 62 point increase in our STRIVE HI index, our TEAM picture that was taken on the first administrative day, family events (BINGO, pasta, movie night, Math games night, Ocean Science night, 2 Ohana days, May Day), new partnerships (Hawaii Lodging and Tourism, JTB, Toridoll, Hawaii 3Rs, First Hawaiian Bank, Jade Painting, HPD - DARE program, ), Cat in the Hat day, first time participants in the Honolulu District Science Fair, Math meet, speech festivals, events involving the media (tsunami awareness, hand-made udon experience, articles on the DOE website, articles in the Star Advertiser and MidWeek, 21st century Learning Centers I and II, fitness meet, bike education, field trips, project-based learning opportunity focused on student learning. These events aligned with our schools vision and mission to support the "whole child".
What a fantastic program! Our May Day Program was simply fantastic. It was heartwarming to see so many of our students show off their talents. There were many smiling faces of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, former students, future students, faculty and staff, and people who were just walking by and decided to stay for the program.
